wool
i packed all my yarn today and it fits in a BIGGEST plastic bin i could buy at Dominion. the size that you could store all your camping gear for life in. it's kind of scary. better get knitting...
AND, i'm learning how to weave this month. each saturday morning in june i'll be at the anna templeton centre taking an on-loom weaving class. cool eh? i'm really really looking forward to it.

windy
i had a consultant in the office helping me with some stuff last week. he was from Montreal and we had a very productive time together.
at one point, while walking to the car bent over almost perpendicular to the ground, he said "you know how they call Chicago the windy city? well, i've been to Chicago many times and it IS really windy there, but they have NOTHING ON THIS PLACE."
it was then that i looked at him and said "WHAT?" because i couldn't hear him over the wind that was howling past my ears.

exam...AGAIN
i'm walking into an exam again today and i'm hoping that my WITS are going to come into play... yikes! i am once again not prepared...maybe next time it will work out better! fingers crossed for me that i pass this one and can cross it off the list. i've done well on the course material, but not having the books in front of me could prove to be my downfall.
i've been working on a hot water bottle cozy...in hopes that i won't need it anymore as soon as i finish it. this is a quick little knit and because it progresses so quickly i can feel like i accomplished something, which is a nice contrast to the studying. i'll be back to the socks tonight after the exam. if i can crank dad's out in a week i should be able to get michelle's completed by next week. yay!
if you haven't been to picasa in a while, go check it out. there are pics of london from before christmas, new year's eve (a small party in a BIG storm), and marble mountain last weekend.

a good day
today was a good day. first off, i got my marks back from the exam and i PASSED. which, considering i didn't even read all the course material and i actually MADE STUFF UP on the test, means that i am totally brilliant. it's always nice to have confirmation on the magnitude of your brain power.
and then, i came out of work today at 5:15 to the most beautiful sunset. a deep red swath lined the horizon and there was still a hint of deep blue above us. it made me realize that the days are getting longer. even with leaving at 5pm every day (or thereabouts) i haven't seen the sunset in months. it feels good to know we are on the other side of darkness.
